Nice bit of reductionism there.

Who do you think had been keeping all these games companies thinking releasing games on Steam is a good idea. VR audience is far more diverse.

Good article otherwise.

Twitch want a picture of my face, they can go watch my stream. If they want to verify my age, they can check my affiliate agreement.

Not enabling this nonsense. Not getting involved.

We got a date yet for the Skynet Firestorm? Seems like something I should add to my calendar.

Elite Dangerous in VR is exemplary. It is not alone.

There are already more games that make use of VR well than hours in the day to play them.

You write off the Steam Frame as a gaming-only device. I wonder if any use-cases will develop around it being a "a PC" (Valve's words, from Steam Store).

I generally agree that the Steam Frame will not overly disrupt the VR space, but it will sustain it, and gives non-meta options for wireless.

"Meta even launched a dedicated dongle for wireless PCVR in the past"

Which was, by most accounts I've heard of it.. trash.

Valve have something here which will be performant, reliable, and set a new standard for others to follow.

"This is a headset for games, and just games. In a moment where Meta seems to be abandoning VR gaming, Valve is doubling its investment in it."

Hell yeah :D Big smiles. No adverts, no data collection for advertisers, a gaming headset for gamers playing games!

"the headset even features a bit of screen door effect which is absent from all the other modern devices."

Your claim of modern devices doesn't hold up. Screendoor is apparent when you've been in high-end devices going back to a lower spec device. People going UP in spec generally don't notice.

How about the heavily subsidised quest become "budget" and the Valve Frame becomes mid-range.
November 13, 2025 at 12:24 AM
"premium"?

Hrmm. Mid-range at best.

I refuse to click the clickbait title on principle! But good to know the big channels are covering it.

I wonder if we'll finally see non-meta quest youtube thumbnails from some of the regular VR YT content producers.

It's a thing of beauty. I'm not in the market for it, having jumped into a SomniumVR1 a year ago, but I'm excited to have a solid quest-alternative that I can (and will) always recommend for those who crave wireless VR.

24% of achievements reaming. I enjoyed Reach's parkour, combat, and world setting enough to consider 100% a worthy, enjoyable challenge and hard mode will be an achievable and enjoyable goal when I'm ready to revisit the world, soon. #pcvr

My son played this through, completed it and loved it! Enjoy. It's a great story and solid action.

Keep on keeping on!

The replies here testimony to your positive impact. Normal thoughts, but don't dwell on them, which gets easier, and more liberating, the more you practice.

Whoever said "do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life" was living a very privileged life. Work is work, no matter how you cut it. Just gotta roll up your sleeves and get to it!
