the biggest thing i hope studios take away from the success of Sinners and K-Pop Demon Hunters is that, wow, audiences actually DO like and want original stories and don't need every goddamn movie to be a sequel or reboot

A Quiet Weekend in Basel: Two Days That Refilled My Cup

I spent two glorious days away with a girlfriend in Basel, Switzerland, and it was worth every single penny. My first impression? The city is incredibly quiet, clean, and gorgeous. Nestled along the banks of the Rhine, Basel has the calm ease of a place that doesn’t need to prove anything. It’s small, walkable, and full of that very Swiss…

Soft Mornings (Or, What I Can Manage Before Someone Screams “MOM”)

Soft mornings aren’t always slow. As a mom of young kids, I’ve learned to find calm in five-minute rituals and small, sacred wins. Here’s how I reclaim softness in the middle of chaos—with coffee, moisturizer, and a little magic.

Wanting Less, Choosing Better: How I Started Curating a More Soulful Life

Instead of chasing trends and quick fixes, I started asking myself what actually makes my life better. Here’s how I’m curating a slower, more intentional way of living—and the one product that helped this week.

My dad, who is still alive, only saw one white person EVER before the age of 18. The small town he grew up in....Houston, TX
In the south, desegregation occurred in stages from 1961 to 1973+

So most of our parents were raised in it
I still find it annoying that ppl will say segregation was a long time ago.. when literally our grandma's & grandpa's were raised during segregation.

Our parents were the first gen of integration in the USA. Like we're not far off at all 🙃

That's why there are so many 1st gen college students🙄

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record.

They run them bc people react to them the most.

If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.

It’s not easy and takes constant practice!
