Recently I have been looking at photos of our garden, eagerly awaiting those warmer spring days when I can go out - feet to earth - and harvest bits and bobs for our meals.
This illustration gives me a similar feeling of wistful longing.

I am working on an illustrated calendar (more info on that soon), and the first few spreads are based in winter. I’m trying to push past the reflex of painting snow *white* and instead using purples, pinks, oranges, yellows and blues.
