Love the golden tamaracks of fall in the northern Rockies (these are from earlier this month in greater Banff), but we planned the trip knowing snow could spike all our plans.

I was there at the start and end of this dry season. In late June, we sat on the shore of Lake Oesa listening to snow crash down the slopes.

On this day some years ago, I popped into East Glacier after a snowfall and saw a guy in a pith helmet on a penny farthing. He eventually did make it up and over Logan Pass and onward across the country. #pennyfarthing #glaciernationalpark #montana
