I’d say the idea any program designed to help people who’ve been the targets of discrimination must be a front for fraud is a big part of how we got here.

There’s no balance required? I was routinely denied accommodations in college even when I had medical proof of my daily migraines. You have to work 1000 hrs without FMLA protections to get accommodations before you qualify. It’s so hard already??
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.
