ugghhh i'm not sure why alt text didn't show up on all of these maps, and i accidentally uploaded the wrong map for progressive slate vote totals.

here's the vote totals by precinct and ward, take 2 (this time with alt text)
November 6, 2025 at 8:55 PM
Vote contribution to city total by precinct and ward (e.g. the precincts and wards that cast the most votes as a percentage of the citywide total.)
November 6, 2025 at 8:49 PM
Precinct and ward turnout comparison (e.g. percent of eligible voters who cast ballots for mayor in places that voted heavily in favor of Frey or the Progressive Slate)
November 6, 2025 at 8:49 PM
Voter turnout by precinct and ward (e.g. percent of eligible voters who cast ballots for mayor; registration numbers came from MN Sec. of State as of June 2025).

Vote totals by precinct and ward (e.g. total number of votes cast):

Vote share by precinct and ward (e.g. percent of votes cast):

What's both good and sad about this election is that the progressive, Don't Rank Frey, coalition *does appear* to have made inroads. Again, we don't have turnout numbers, and redistricting may be a factor, but it looks like more votes were received in precincts that didn't vote for Frey than in 2021
November 5, 2025 at 11:05 PM
The share of total votes cast by ward remained largely unchanged from 2021 to 2025. We don't have turnout data yet, but I think it's safe to assume that Wards 13, 11, and 12 remained the highest turnout wards, and their politics continue to drive citywide elections.

Generally speaking: Frey's support weakened outside the Chain of Lakes. It got a lot stronger downtown and in Ward 13. If you're thinking "I did not know that was possible," neither did I. But it might help explain why Palmisano ran up North Korea numbers in W13.

I did not rank the mayor.

Blood and Temporality is out on all streaming services today.

its inherently political, a song for protest and understanding why everything sucks. all proceeds go toward direct aid for Palestinian kids (including streaming, bc purchases, and fees from my own pocket).
