I use Ancestry to gather sources to investigate the suggestions I get from them. Those that come from other trees, I either ignore (because of errors I see right off) or consider them as leads for investigation. And from some trees, I can readily see that what they've done is copied MY info!

I keep asking myself: Why bother with AI when, in order to do the proper "reasonably exhaustive search," we have to go back and check everything the AI has given us? I go by an old advertising slogan: "Mother, please! I'd rather do it myself!"

I found the answer in an ad in a city directory to a question I had long held. I had heard my mother and my grandma talk about a man I had never met, as an old family friend. I had no idea who he was. I found him: my dad's co-worker listed in a half-page ad. Question answered.
