Oh, nice! I recently found out about the Boulder Ranch series by BIPOC authors Ashley Willow and Britton Brinkley. I haven't had a chance to read them but thrilled western romance is *hopefully* diversifying.

Dude, my qh horse messed up her sesamoidean LIGAMENT (not bone). At that point of her life (early 20s) we trail rode (improved mostly level trails) and did level 1 and lower dressage. No idea how.
She also somehow ripped open her anus area. Never found on what; she was in a round pen and no blood.

Anyone who has horses knows this is not a good sign. They are constantly trying to unalive themselves in new, creative ways.

Absolutely. I wasn't supposed to talk about it. I didn't even *know* they were an alcoholic until a friend said something when I was in 6th grade. They "hid" it & everyone ignored it because if not, they'd have to acknowledge leaving a child alone w/ a barely functioning alcoholic was not ideal.

I grew up with an alcoholic and they are from the boomer generation where they got the sweet spot for everything. Addiction is a disease. An outside trigger may cause someone to try but the continuance is the disease.
