ODOT sowed so much unnecessary division between EJ & Climate orgs that it can’t not be intentional. And in it will ultimately serve in Paving The Planet, their prime directive

That would be legitimately disgusting. I want to believe our state dept of transportation isn’t *that* flagrantly white supremacist. Just extracting consent from the black community and discarding it afterwards.

If I was involved in AVT and ODOT told me to stay silent on transit funding during the Transportation Package Session—total hearsay but the only explanation I can think of for their silence—then I would think ODOT must not be very good partners.

Absolutely. My guess is that council president did this on purpose, or maybe the TAO process has to happen this week. council voted against having more weeknight meetings and I think some of them had this in mind when they cast the vote.
FWIW, the TAO stuff will be around noon.

The harborton/forest park session shook me b/c it showed that the only thing standing between us and and the gay luxury space communism future we want is 100-200 bodies in a council session.

Thank you for asking for help! It’s difficult because the system is working as intended. The link should take you to wednesdays 9:30 am session, and the below steps should get you there.

I don’t work in city hall but my understanding is that pro/anti testimonies get counted up, but psychologically verbal testimony + a presence in the chambers has a bigger impact.

The headline implies that Trimet is a “no” vote but I think they just don’t want to be a tie breaker. It’s the city’s vote that will be the tie breaker and Williams seemed supportive

Situation is still developing but as of Friday we have 3/7 votes on the decision-making body for “bus and turn lanes” along the entirety of 82nd in Portland city limits. BAT lanes as a concept are a compromise but we are fighting lots of elite capture for this

TriMet says full bus lanes on 82nd are up to project partners
Here's why our transit agency is opting for less transit.

There will be a political process which will result in some service gains and some affordability gains. Who knows what that’ll look like until it happens.
But if Mamdani ran on “service improvements are more important than affordability, you rubes” we might be looking at a Cuomo victory rn.
