one thing that receives almost no attention is that the only reason he ran for president again is because he had to to avoid prosecution for a litany of crimes, the whole plan was: 1). Take shelter in SCOTUS-granted immunity. 2). Loot.
trump is the president in the sense that he holds the office but he very clearly isn't the president in the sense that he has basically relieved himself of its duties

and again, this attack on trans identity has been withering, brutal, and extended. if you are concerned about free speech, you need to be very concerned about a university firing a trans grad student for trying to do her job!

A college student complaining about a grade on a paper is not national news. Not even close. The details have minimal import outside the class itself.

Well-funded political activists targeting profs and TAs—in this case because they're trans—with the help of elected state officials? National issue.

Every day I get angrier abt that wretched Harper’s Letter, and the broader feckless, bothsider-poisoned media environment that treated it as legit.

I’m profoundly disappointed in the left-leaning types who gave reputational cover to a nakedly bad-faith doc.

And furious at the on-going silence.
If anyone is curious about the current list of search terms being used by right wing activist organizations to harass university professors, here's a public records request I received today from Mike Howell of the Heritage Foundation. Not intimidating or meant to curtail by my speech at all, right?

This is like saying “I don’t think Donald Trump would be foolish enough to try to have his own Vice President lynched” when that’s exactly what he tried to do.

Agree that it's a debasement of academic standards, but a minor correction: the instructor who was put on administrative leave is a graduate student, not a professor.

In some ways this is worse. This one incident could derail their academic career before it even starts.
