The name was changed in 1947 to reflect a shift in focus after WWII from wartime operations to a broader mission of national security and defense, especially in the emerging Cold War. It wasn't done to be "woke" (FFS) but to adjust to the changing threat and risk profile our country faced.

It’s essentially market-driven healthcare without strong consumer protections, leading to underinsurance, medical bankruptcies & widening inequality, which the ACA was designed to prevent.

What they're "working on":
- Reduce ACA subsidies or let them expire
- Cut Medicaid & add work requirements
- Promote private-market initiatives like HSA's, short-term plans, etc.
- Shift federal programs to state control & block grants

Oh for sure. They have shown such a deep desire for and commitment to bipartisan governance. 🙄

Well, it's hard to focus on affordability issues when his policies are what is driving the rising costs and job losses. And when he's focused on mass deportation, turning the DOJ loose on anyone who opposed him, tearing down the WH to build a gilded ballroom & grifting-grifting-grifting.

Question: We have numerous incidents of Trump officials lying to courts and/or ignoring court rulings. Is that legal now? Just checking.
