Labeling things in this way is ridiculous. I just addressed this in a presentation with librarians. GNs are not desserts. This isn’t the way to encourage lifelong readers.

I don't like book bans, and I don't like censorship, but I genuinely cannot stand that mainstream booktok is uncritically recommending books so that a 10 year old wants to read Icebreaker. That's just not developmentally appropriate reading for elementary schoolers.
