The Royal College of Physicians 2025 report, 'A breathe of fresh air', estimated that around 30,000 deaths per year in the UK are as a result of air pollution. Alongside this, an economic cost of £27bn in the UK due to healthcare costs, productivity losses, reduced quality of life.

A plethora of HIA templates are available, the generic content of which may not meet the needs of key decision makers. This webinar draws on recent workshops we hosted with 3 Local Authorities where NIHR research evidence, practice & policy evidence and experience of HIAs were discussed.

@lizzysuch.bsky.social introduced the session and @andytattersall.bsky.social talked about working with @nihr.bsky.social infrastructure to utilise Google Apps, creative tools and @figshare.com to rethink how dissemination, knowledge mobilisation and impact can be done differently.

We’ve taken a mixed-methods approach to sharing knowledge in an attempt to open up engagement and increase the chances of @nihr.bsky.social research being seen, understood, and used by those who need it most. It’s still a work in progress, and we’re keen to share what we’ve learned so far. 3/3

From the way we collaborate internally to how we make our work more accessible and engaging externally. We’ll talk through our communications strategy, how we underpin everything with in-house expertise with the support of external collaborators to produce materials that mobilise knowledge.
