Aaaand suddenly I haven't posted anything in a month 😅

Been working on some big renovations in the studio, and prepping yarn for Estes Park next month! Excited for Colorado, and excited to show you the studio renovation soon.

Mr. Bradley Patadley is breaking up your doomscrolling to remind you:

1) Breathe
2) Unclench your jaw and pull your shoulders down from your ears
3) Drink some water
4) Go for a little walk outside
5) Have a snack

After that you may resume your existential dread.

It's election day in Wisconsin!
It's also April 1st - so don't get got, vote for Crawford instead of the other fool.

A couple weeks ago I put out a newsletter introducing the yarn packs I put together for Joji's new Take Your Time cardigan, and announced the very low-stakes KAL I'm running that starts on April 16.

Link for kits below⬇️, place your order by March 26 to get your yarn in time for the KAL start date!

🚨NEW🚨: Donald Trump is attempting to strip away federal support for libraries. We will NOT let that happen.

Last night the President signed an order to gut the Institute of Museum & Library Services. But together, we know we can show up & defeat it.

#Fiberuarychallenge 28) Gratitude

My instinct with a prompt like this is to be very serious. The world is a little too heavy right now, so I'm going simple:

I'm grateful that I woke up this morning feeling refreshed, and that my stinky lil guy came and sat with me for a little bit. 10/10 morning

#Fiberuarychallenge 27) Sip & Stitch

Anyone who knows me knows I drink mostly water - and if you hear me say I'm drinking a Natty, it's actually a Natural Klarbrunn. Unflavored sparkling water is my absolute jam, and Klarbrunn is s-tier in that category.

Boycotting isn't always feasible for every person for a multitude of reasons. This is a great reminder that reducing spending still hurts the bottom line. Similarly: a $5 donation to a cause is still $5 that can be put to use for good.

Each drop in the bucket matters, folks.
When it comes to boycotting, just a thought. It’s okay if you can’t quit a company cold turkey. In Master Gardeners, when we encourage people to switch to native plants, the goal is 70% native, not 100%. If you were shopping at a store 80% of the time and cut it back to 60%, that 20% still hurts.

#Fiberuarychallenge 26) Where in the World

📍Madison, Wisconsin

I'm originally from Michigan, and went to college in Kentucky. I made my way to Wisconsin in 2014 and have only ever regretted it when there was heavy snowfall before I owned a snowblower. 🥶😅
I used to hate winter but it's grown on me!

#Fiberuarychallenge 25) Handmade Gift

Occasionally my friends and I go on a sunrise hike. On this outing all of us had coincidentally worn hats knit by yours truly. Nothing quite like handmade gifts being appreciated! These three are exceptionally knitworthy people.

I finally used this luscious @knitcircus.bsky.social asexual pride set I acquired a few years ago. The pattern - Mini Solutions scarf - was a super quick knit (took me less than a week bc right combo of mindless and engaging).

Six years ago this week I was in Amsterdam with some friends, and I was able to stop by Stephen & Penelope's Fine Yarns!

#Fiberuarychallenge 22) On the Road

At O'Hare after catching an Ass O'Clock flight out of Virginia. Flight boards in half an hour, so I'll be home before 11.

Which leads to 23) Self care

I'll be napping away all afternoon so that I'm fresh for the dye studio tomorrow morning! 😁

#Fiberuarychallenge 21) Now and Then

I'm nothing if not a cat lady, so here's a now & then of Louise:

From our very first meeting when she was a newly-amputated fluff nugget to current glowering tripod queen.

As much as I love vacations, I'm excited to return home tomorrow to see her and Bradley!

The world is on fire. What do I do?
Right now, the US is matching the steps of 1930’s Germany with terrifying accuracy. Around the world, though, many countries are swinging towards the far right, climate change is wreaking havoc, and h...

#Fiberuarychallenge 20) Fiber Friends

I'm currently visiting my first fiber friend, my college roommate Rosa. I cannot count the number of times that she helped me in the studio while I was working on my fiber art degree! Most notable was helping me wrangle super long warps

#Fiberuarychallenge 19) Wear It Wednesday (catching up)

Is there anything cuter than pups in handknits? Maybe babies, but it's close.

Young Otto (my friend's dog) is shown here wearing an Aeque cowl knit in one of Knitcircus' modernist colorways (now discontinued). Links ⬇️

#Fiberuarychallenge 18) Twos Day
(Catching up)

Would I post anything for Twos Day other than a pair of matching gradient socks?

All dyed-to-order cakes of yarn (gradient, impressionist, modernist dye techniques) can be ordered as a matching sock set. Perfect for TAAT toe-up socks! Link below ⬇️

#FiberuaryChallenge 17) Monochromatic

I took a couple days off social media while preparing for my trip to Virginia, so I'm catching up. Because, you know, *gestures everywhere*.

The horrors may persist, but so do we. Persist Pink was developed as Knitcircus' official pussy hat pink in Jan. 2017.
