My oldest used to work at Joann so I’m wearing their old apron and name tag (which will read “Stitch Witch”) and I’ll have a bunch of knitting and sewing supplies in the pockets. Anyway this is the front of the hat. I watched a video tutorial of the Polka Dot Chair pattern and also referenced the free tutorial at the Fat Quarter Shop blog. But my head and hair are so ridiculously big that I had to enlist my mathy younger child (24) to help me do actual geometry to upsize the pattern. I sometimes used a burned out heat lamp from my bearded dragon’s cage. It has a wider surface area than a standard darning egg or a regular incandescent lightbulb.

And I got into the bad habit of noodling on my phone to give my hands something to do, instead of picking up my socks in progress. I know that split attention is so bad for my brain, but it’s easy. I could be done with these instead of on level 2045 of that dumb game!
Simple two at a time socks knitted toe up using plain knit stitch, approximately 3/4 of the way complete (about 13” from toe to current row), using a variegated almost-striping yarn with pink, light blue, and yellow shades.

A bit more sock mending, this time for Elder Child who popped in for a quick visit. I made these socks SO long ago and I’m so happy to give them a life extension.
A pair of cream colored cabled socks, each with a hole at the back of the heel and one with a huge hole at the toe, all mended with weaving using bright orange yarn. I always like my sock mends to be super bright and obvious.

On the right, two thin spots shored up with outside patches. A fraying spot on the fly stitched over, and finally the shredded hems were cut away and rehemmed. They’re actually the right length now! He’s SO happy 😁

A 4x8 raised garden bed with marigolds around the perimeter, and on each short edge are large plastic containers upended over my seedlings and held down with bricks. They won’t get washed or blown away!

I was walking on Saturday and listening to the Monster Talk podcast about dragons and dinosaurs and looked down to see a plastic dinosaur toy at my feet. I am, however, starting to suspect it’s not biologically accurate.
A small grey plastic dinosaur toy that I thought was a corythosaurus but the arms are all wrong. It had a brontosaurus body and not tyrannosaurus arms?

If you randomly think of the kid from Webster and google him, AI will tell you that he died. In fact they are referencing the death of composer Webster Lewis, not Emmanuel Lewis who is alive and well as of this writing. #AIsucks

My Elder Child and their partner better start saving now for Juilliard. My grandkitty Seymour is clearly a protégé.
A kitty of type I do not know as I’ve been allergic my whole life and remain so now, is standing on the top of a wooden piano with sheet music scattered across the stand. He is eyeing the keyboard doubtfully. The same nondescript kitty, with front paws each on a different piano key while his rear paws remain behind. His expression has changed from doubtful to unamused. And again this same dear kitty, launching himself onto the floor with eyes glowing yellow somehow, either disgusted with whatever ridiculous human turned his climbing spot into a noise machine, or satisfied that his concert will be a sellout due to his charming demeanor alone and any further practice would be a waste of his precious time.
