Since it seems like the main thrust is “there is an essential problem with British culture” the point of highlighting the ethnicity might be “the only person who helped me wasn’t *really* British.” like it’s kind of a revealing backhanded compliment.

If it’s anything like Sucuk, probably better.
November 11, 2025 at 3:57 PM
With pepperoni though?
November 11, 2025 at 3:48 PM
Actually, no, you’re the only one here behaving petulantly. Projection is a bad look.
November 11, 2025 at 1:14 PM
Oh man the Baileys just clicked hard for me.

I don’t see why I should expect the people in the third photo to be particularly intelligent. They’re not sensibly dressed for the beach at all!

It’s actually the cavers who were disloyal though? Not the voters who are pissed at the cavers.

I know you really want to live in a world where voters don’t hold politicians accountable. You don’t.

So it’s not hard for me to see why newer activists without strong personal ties to the Jewish community understand this as a petty bigotry of small differences.

The expectation that Dem pols clear their throats and endorse zionism has severely weakened. If you’re for equality, you can just say you’re for equality. You don’t have to clear your throat with “I am a Zionist but…”

Yeah, I mean this more in the sense that the conflict between these two groups basically represented the entire scope of mainstream political opinion not so long ago so the distinction was everything in terms of the US discourse. But the Overton window has opened sharply to the left.
November 10, 2025 at 9:25 PM
This is definitely true, but I’m not sure the distinction has ever mattered less. 2SS Zionism may have been the only mainstream left wing position 5 years ago, but it no longer seems viable. And it’s not hard to see why, it’s not a particularly coherent ideology.

Why would he pass up such a slam dunk opportunity to make Durbin look pathetic? He just has to hold the vote and vote it down. Why would you beg and plead and cajole someone who hates you to tell you to eat shit?
November 10, 2025 at 7:12 PM
Genuinely can’t tell which is worse.
November 10, 2025 at 7:06 PM
His promise, as I understand it, is that they are going to vote down the subsidies and laugh in Dick’s face, right? These people are irredeemably stupid and cowardly.
November 10, 2025 at 6:51 PM
Not to mention Deep Space 9, which is obviously both.
November 10, 2025 at 6:24 PM
I feel like everyone always forgets he’s not a Democrat and the Dems can challenge him for his seat any election he comes up.
November 10, 2025 at 2:34 PM
Could it be that a loud and proud movement to drag all of Western society into celebration of one more genocide has actually been counterproductive to your goals? Media environments are not as simple as you’d like them to be.
November 9, 2025 at 9:22 AM
So by that same token, where is the Sudan-American Political Action Committee? Where is the Sunni Anti-Defamation League dedicating all its resources to the destruction of the Houthis? Why are you only defending Israeli genocidaires and not others?

One of those actors at their best playing someone contemptible, and you gotta wonder what that means…
