The push to change the hepatitis B vaccine to start at age 4 makes zero sense.

A short explanation of p-hacking and why it absolutely makes sense to ask HHS to release the study methods of their autism report in advance.

Inspired by @mattlanza.bsky.social’s Space City Weather flood scale, I’m excited to announce the new You Can Know Things ‘Scale of Flawed Science.’

It’s an updated hierarchy of evidence in the age of memes, AI hallucinations, and questionable peer review to communicate “just how wrong is this.”

Prevention >>>> treatment. That's the beauty of vaccines.

It's possibly confounded by that, but at least according to UpToDate (one of the most trusted summaries of evidence-based guidelines for physicians), vitamin A is recommended for cases of severe measles. There are limited data in resource-rich settings, probs causes measles is rare here.

If you are feeling overwhelmed and bewildered by all that is happening and are having trouble knowing how to move forward, cannot recommend this book enough. It is a masterclass in how to find meaning and purpose in the midst of chaos and suffering, and most importantly, how to keep going.

Prepping a talk on vaccine hesitancy/lessons learned during the pandemic, and if there's one point I could drive home to the whole internet, it's this:

Don't confuse virality with effectiveness.

Posts bashing "anti-vaxxers" may get lots of likes and views, but they're only making things worse.

Very important point for healthcare providers in @kkjetelina.bsky.social’s newsletter this morning.

Bird flu shows up positive on our standard flu A tests.

If someone is flu A+ but has conjunctivitis, is more sick than expected, or had exposure to birds/cows, consider bird flu.

Public health workers in Louisiana are being told they can't promote flu, COVID, or mpox vaccination, or even tell the public when they have vaccines available.

This is utterly absurd.

Highly recommend this easily sharable vaccine FAQs list from @kkjetelina.bsky.social and @yalesph.bsky.social. Here's a reminder of how we know vaccines don't cause autism.
