I have never, in my entire life, felt more despair at the state of my country than I do right now. This 4th of July feels like a day of mourning. The saying "Happy 4th of July" hits me like an ironic discordant dirge. Needless to say, I'm not celebrating this day.

Don't think single people get enough credit for doing life alone. Rent/mortgage is double, household responsibility and life admin is down to one person, you're your own emotional support, holidays are more expensive, you've to trap and transport human sacrifices for the solstice bonfire solo, etc.

I’ve had multiple people now tell me that GPS is bad because nobody learns to navigate, and as a person who substantially predated GPS, excuse you, it is so nice not driving in circles for hours.
