Une chose que je trouve dommage dans le Belin 'Mondes Anciens' sur l'Égypte, c'est qu'après avoir savamment remis en question le mythe du royaume Hyksos au chapitre 7, on peut tout de même lire ça au chapitre 9 :

Reposting an old thing here, but I made a chart a while ago of the name "Breizh" and its etymologically related counterparts, highlighting what they meant geographically speaking.
I'm not too sure about the "Land of the Shaped folk" thing, the ultimate meaning of *Pretani is still unclear I think.

Reposting an old thing here, but I made a chart a while ago of the name "Breizh" and its etymologically related counterparts, highlighting what they meant geographically speaking.
I'm not too sure about the "Land of the Shaped folk" thing, the ultimate meaning of *Pretani is still unclear I think.

This week is Lokorn's great Tromeni, an ancient festival. While people walk some 12 km around Locronan, people make some huts, each one for a different saint, greeting the walkers with the sound of their bells.
We had fun with KEAV's Breton summer school walking around Locronan!

Found in Brasparts, a clay tablet on a tree.
It seems to bear an inscription in a Celtic language, maybe Gaulish. It reads KLOTOS BRASOPAIE or maybe BRASOPARTE, but the upper stroke of the T is hard to read.
The scribe has retained the declensions, which is unusual, but rather helpful.

You've read it already, I was reading lately about the PIE root dyew- and I of course made a chart. I didn't put all the things I found on it, or else I would have had to make several sub-charts, and there are some things I'd like to clear up, especially on the Greek side.

First real stop was at Le Mans and while my eldest wanted to have lunch near the 24 hours circuit, we wisely chose to eat in front of the Roman walls of the city. All of the family was blown away.
