Hi folks, I'm Bun / Klaus a hobbyist UK game dev. I used to write TTRPG stuff and worked in Unity / C#, but now I'm picking up Godot.

Working solo I do a little bit of everything in games, but the real struggle is finishing something and staying focused.

Happy new year!🐇
I have a circular shower so naturally I got a circular bath mat - but now I feel like a miniature every time I take a shower.

Guidelines for PCE CD-ROM2 Life Harmony:

1) Read more puppygirl x masc lesbian light novels
2) Point out how cute your CD-ROM is as often as possible
3) Do not disturb your CD-ROM if they are pleasantly dreaming
4) Do not vibe too hard with the beat - only sufficiently.

Pretty sure the only meaningful difference between us and animals is we can say no to the intrusive thoughts.

How is godot at handling multiplayer? I've not had many good experiences with anything related to networking config haha.

Have people found it easy / hard to deal with? Struggles or reliefs?

So I was trying out linux distros and Kubuntu 24.04.03 got my two hard drives confused, it ended up writing to the wrong one and I lost about 9 months of data including my orbit prototype.

Thankfully wasn't too complex or far in so I could remake it but man is the steam gone.

Another tech bro run thing you really should stop using if you haven't already. Our phones can hold cavernous amounts of MP3s, music-only devices can be found in abundance, and there's stuff like Bandcamp for direct artist support.

Fresh reminder that ModRetro's founder also funds death dealing.

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the filmmaking duo known as Radio Silence, are set to direct the movie for Universal.

Had a good first interview with a local game company today, my new top pic if I can get it - but I have a technical interview tomorrow with a backup choice in London. Fingers crossed.

Death Company units are done, next up is the combat patrol, so assault marines and sanguinary guard.

In videos on thinning paints, the paint is visibly loose on the surface at the right mix. I'm using an army painter wet palette and I find the paint is stickier on the hydro sheets. The water clings to it more, is that just a quality of the sheets or am I doing something wrong?

Post you from another era?

16 years ago I ordered a Bridget costume online for my birthday. It was awesome.

Gambling and advertising work very well on a small % of the population, but permitting that abuse has led to a world where everything is made terrible explicitly to cater to manipulating that % of people to the detriment of everything else - because it works. Hence gambling and ads are everywhere.

Tweaked the scale of things, made particles fusable up to 3 levels with each worth more points than the last.

This sped up footage shows the exciting 7 minute life of a cluster that was floating around being dramatic. I think that's a sign I'm moving in the right direction.

Cautiously optimistic, but the new affinity studio looks very cool - photohsop, illustrator, and indesign for free in one app with some really nice features.

More refactoring to simplify my code. Bodies also now fuse into other bodies when 3 meet, and the sun acts as a gravity well in the blue area to draw stuff into orbit.

I need to restrict what can fuse with what, add new types to the orbiting objects, and add more materials. #godot

Having multiple large monitors really makes my ADHD stand out more. I'll find myself glancing at a monitor that has nothing to do with what I'm working on and only realise because I notice my head is turned the wrong way for what I was doing originally.

A tiny bit of polish, some physics tweaks, refactoring, and now dust will despawn below a certain velocity (likely will change this). Next step would be having dust fuse when it clusters in groups of 3 into the next material up. Also need ways to spend those materials. And mouse interaction. #Godot

Starting to feel a bit more functional. The idea next is to spend the collected dust on upgrades. Also would be cool to have dust that collide fuse into a 2nd resource.

Could also tweak the physics to up the gravity influence some more. I have to fight the urge to polish! #godot
