Caveat Civis - Fight for Democracy! 🇺🇦 🇬🇪 🇸🇰 🇷🇴 🇭🇺 🇺🇸
Two dinners spent around my otherwise lovely in-laws, including my two quite strongly opinioned, very Mormon, very right wing brothers in law, and zero politics ever came up and everyone had a wonderful time.

I would say this 2025 Thanksgiving has been a success.

this should go without saying but if you were one of the lucky few we did get out of Afghanistan during the withdrawal and we got you out because you'd been working with us, deportation back is likely a death sentence.

Legislative leaders are having a press conference this morning at 8:30. I’m told it has something to do with Utah’s new congressional map.

Hearing it could involve moving the candidate filing dates to give them more time for an appeal. There could also be an appeal directly to the US Supreme Court.

In case anyone was wondering why Beyer was absent.

Looks like the other two Dems were Casar, who is apparently in Texas related to the redistricting being struck down, and Sherrill, whose seat is effectively empty now that she has become NJ Governor-elect.

All seem pretty reasonable.
I signed the discharge petition to force this vote on releasing the Epstein files, which I strongly support. I woke up today with a bad bug, but would've voted yes had my vote been needed for passage. Happy to see it pass nearly unanimously, and I look forward to returning soon.

So, with Judge Gibson's decision on the UT Congressional Maps, my question is: what comes next?

Does the Leg have anything it can do to try and stop the map being used 2026 at this point, given the Lt. Gov's timeline?

What shenanigans can we expect from them as they try to undo this?

Tonight is a night to celebrate. Incredible movement across the country.

Tomorrow, the task is capturing the energy in the air for the long haul. Restoring Constitutionalism through future pain, into the midterms, and well beyond.

Looking forward to getting involved in that mission after tonight!

I really would like to read a detailed debunking article from someone with this kind of experience on nuclear war plans about house of dynamite and/or jacobsen's book because all I see from like professional critics is the typical "chilling, sobering...she's obviously done her homework"
Well, I suppose it can't be any worse than Annie Jacobsen's POS book. At least they got the Black Book right.
