It always vindicating when these GOPs have these "find out" moments.

Again, the argument is from a numbers perspective only.
Ideally, anyone who wants to serve could, and nations who fail to respect the rule of law and others' sovereign boundaries would be dealt with swiftly and harshly by all the rest who do.

Your scenario is assuming the loss of only 1 woman, not many sent to war. And, if many die in wars, then where are all the still alive women of childbearing age a man to father the continued population with?

In the 2nd, it could increase.
December 25, 2024 at 8:56 AM
That would take roughly 9 years, and that's given an extrordinarily fast 3 month post-partum recovery time. But given the inverse situation, you have 1 male & 10 females who could conceivably repopulate (plus 1) the 9 men killed within a year. In the 1st scenario the population would likely die out

In other words, eliminate enough women & there's no women to serve as replacements. Breaking it down into small, managable numbers, say a population has 10 men & 10 women. Nine of those women go fight and are killed. That leaves 1 woman and 10 men to replace the 9 killed...

That assumption would hold true if humans reproduced asexually.
But since reproduction requires both XX and XY chromosomes, your 1:1 equivalency doesn't exist.

A man can theoretically reproduce life over 270 times in that 9 mos with 270 women, if need be.
So more women are more needed to sustain a population than are men.
From a numbers point ONLY, when trying to sustain a population, women are less easily replaced.

The mathematics of population sustainability is the only reason (and it is a fairly compelling one) for not compelling women to fight. It takes both sexes to reproduce life. A woman can reproduce life with 1 man in ~9 mos.

I have very early life memories. My first remembered "bad" dream I was 2. And I knew I was dreaming as I was having it, even then. So wasn't scared. It's why I never persued learning to direct them. Plus knowing that dreaming is a form of mental/emo. house cleaning, I just let 'em go where they may.

Fwiw, I kind get this when I dream. I've always been aware that I'm dreaming when I dream... not really lucid dreaming because I don't direct my dream so much as just let them unfold. But I do experience all characters' experiences & feelings, all simultaneously. I don't know how, or even how not to

Not really take on the character traits of what I read, but there are 2 characters of a series I relate stongly to. Pol and Silk, both from The Belgariad series. I love Pol's no-nonsense pragmatism. And I love the roguish Silk's ability to slip into any personality suits the situation or he fancies
