Kavanaugh's statements make the problem worse, not better. If the reason SCOTUS is using cryptic shadow docket orders is because "five" of them can't "reach a consensus or a compromise on a particular issue that might be difficult," then that order should not be precedential —there's no majority.
Brett Kavanaugh says there’s a good reason Supreme Court rulings can sometimes be so cryptic
In remarks to a judicial conference, Kavanaugh also defended Chief Justice John Roberts.

The president is sending the military to control American cities and if you're a reporter who's framing that illegal power grab as "pushing the boundaries of constitutionality" or "acting boldly to fight crime" or whatever, please go find another line of work where you won't get us all killed.

I know, I know, but: The president of the US saying, literally, "we're going in" in reference to sending the military to an American city for no reason beyond terrorizing the local population should be the most immediately impeachable shit imaginable

Unfortunately, Bluesky is unavailable in Mississippi right now, due to a new state law that requires age verification for all users.

While intended for child safety, we think this law poses broader challenges & creates significant barriers that limit free speech & harm smaller platforms like ours.

The judiciary is being asked to serve as a check on presidential abuses of power, but in case after case the Supreme Court has shirked that responsibility. The justices owe the public explanations for their decisions. bit.ly/4mzvX0p
Supreme Court Must Explain Why It Keeps Ruling in Trump’s Favor
The Court has repeatedly halted lower court orders and allowed administration policies to go forward via its “shadow docket” without any explanation.

The military takeover of Washington is not a “distraction” from Epstein. It’s a military takeover of Washington, which is an even bigger deal, and those of us who kill brain cells reporting on this stuff knows it’s been an explicit goal since before the election.

We’re letting a sitting President of the United States shit post his opponents daily and threaten them with prosecution because valid Epstein questions are making him mad. And we’re apparently fine with our world reputation, soft power and Constitutional protections being set on fire by this felon.

Never before in U.S. history has one man exercised such unbridled discretion affecting the lives of so many, while simultaneously preventing others — Congress, the courts, the American people — from having a say or even knowing what he’s going to do next.

This is dictatorship.
