Everything comes back to paradox - without paradox, no aliveness. Ocean floor meets night sky. No elevator goes down far enough for me. Dogs=life. She/they, queer AND peculiar. Archetypal astrology is my primary language.
I can think of few better ways to spend part of a day than sighing happily over a baby tapir.

Yikes. I'm scheduled for one at a pharmacy tomorrow, as recommended by my doctor (integrative practice and they don't keep vaccines on premises.) I appreciate the heads up so I won't be shell-shocked if they give me that kind of $, and I can look at other options if needed! Thanks for the tip!

I just scheduled mine at Walgreens for tomorrow - you don't need a scrip for it. Given how *incredibly* fast measles spreads - it's something like 8x more infectious than COVID, and it *wipes out all your previous immunity* 😱😱😱 - it seemed like a serious need. I'm going to keep encouraging this!

Reminder to everyone: if you were born before 1989, there's a good chance you only received one lifetime dose of MMR vaccine. Ask your doctor to check your immunity with a blood test or just give you a booster.

Thank you friend! This felt warm and fuzzy and I appreciate that more than you know when it's cold and dark inside as well as outside. ❤️

I don't *think* I knew that...but given what composting is, it kind of makes sense! And wow, that's a whole different frame for looking at what goes on in my skull cup. 😱🤣🤔 I'm definitely better in the last couple days because I, oh, y'know...DID THE SHIT THAT WORKS WHEN I DO IT. 🙄🙄🙄

Sending extra ❤️ for your head being dangerous too. It's bad enough out there; we don't need our inner landscapes to obey in advance! Just takes a LOT of work to turn that around some days.

^^^This part. Every fucking element of the Constitution is up for "whatever we want it to mean today" EXCEPT the fucking Second Amendment which was clearly delivered straight from God on a golden platter by really white angels. I think even the Bible came after that, to them.

That's exactly why I wanted to love it - liminality is my ZONE. My fav book so far in life is The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern, and it's wildly liminal. But something about Murakami's liminality is just uncomfortable, and I'm sad about that. I might try one more and see if it opens up, though.

I can for sure see the link with Lynch's work, and I never could get into Lynch either, so maybe this is just a frequency I can't quite vibe with. The imagery is haunting for sure - something they both do better than most - and dwelling in that and leaving the rest for later, yeah I can see that.

I at least appreciate that his manliness is not the gross American manliness, but yeah, there are those moments.

Awww Brain! It's never any good without both of you.

He's about as famous as novelists ever get, and magical realism verging into bizarre surrealism is in my zone.

His craft is undeniable, though I don't love some of the style stuff he's best at.

But somehow they're just weird in an uncomfortable and unsatisfying way, and that's a bummer.
