From President Lyndon B. Johnson to the Smothers Brothers, who had a popular, bold, and very funny political satire TV show in the late '60s. I'm old enough to remember it.
They regularly skewered Johnson (Vietnam War era), and for all his faults, was elegant enough to respond thus.

I really haven't been a fan of late-night comedy talk show TV for years. Nonetheless, it's clear that with what has happened to Colbert and now Kimmel that Trumpism and its followers consider it the beast that has to be brought to heel to make pesky old Free Speech behave.

I really haven't been a fan of late-night comedy talk show TV for years. Nonetheless, it's clear that with what has happened to Colbert and now Kimmel that Trumpism and its followers consider it the beast that has to be brought to heel to make pesky old Free Speech behave.
I've seen the 1st two "Knives Out" movies and the trailer for the third one. Seriously, all of this is shaping up to be the smartest entertainment being made nowadays.

The ACLU needs to start getting a team together now so they can move on to impeaching and convicting Trump for multiple and rising violations of due process (nameless prosecutors, anyone?) ASAP the winds shifting and the Democrats having even the thinnest majority in the House or Senate.
