Cute, coordinated, carefree.. first year of uni, barely 20, hasn't even experienced heartbreak yet, has had maybe three bad things happen to her in her whole life. God I miss that girl.

Me, last night after painting my nails: *uses my purple mouse* ooooh! *picks up my purple drink bottle* aaaah! *looks down at my mottled pink mug on my sparkly silver desk next to my purple mouse, where my three new impulse buy nail polishes - pink, silver and purple - are sitting* oh my god.

My class did cats as our play for our school 'andrew lloyd webber' production and I really wanted to do jellicle cats cos it's the best but our teacher chose mr mistoffelees and I was really disappointed.

A very special package arrived a couple of days ago from @thesewphist.bsky.social, including the tui cushion I've been thinking about for months! I also got a set of beautiful print greetings cards with kea, weka, kakariki, and ruru on them, and a matching (bonus 💚🩵💙💜) set of coasters, and stickers!
A bed with a light blue duvet cover with native NZ birds and plants all over it, three cushions - one with lots of squares each with a different native nz bird or plant in it, one with lots of different size tui all over it, and one with different sized kiwi all over it. There are also three bird teddies - a kea, a kokako, and a korimako. On the wall behind my bed is a giant canvas print of a tui in front of some mountains.

And the gifts! The art is well timed as it is one of my tasks this weekend to put up my little gallery, and the socks are wonderful - especially the blue polka dots, since I reluctantly left my last pair of blue polka dot socks at home since they had holes in them! Thank you so much Santa!

I didn't have much Christmassy stuff here so this was the best I could do for an opening set up. (The kiwi is part of my present)

See this. This bullshit. 1. The error message doesn't even match up. 2. Why does the careers page for turners need me to have a more secure password than my bank? 3. Why does TURNERS CARS need ITS OWN DAMN CAREERS PAGE ?!?!??! Shit like this has got to stop. Just give people work. Christ.

This is what I think about every time we have weather like this. 'Stay inside' sure but who can? How many people have to unnecessarily risk their lives for some non urgent non critical desk work or like. Making coffee or whatever bc we have fundamentally broken society?

Have been a bit slack with added fruits and veges in the last few days so I'm back to a carrot, a banana, and some feijoas with my walnut loaf for lunch. Also have found a bonus use for a tray my dad made me a couple of years ago - to hold my snacks when I'm on the couch away from the coffee table..

The problem with being kind of an intuitive cook who uses recipes for ideas and/or suggestions rather than rules.. is that occasionally you'll make something so earth shatteringly delicious and you're just like 'goddamn, how am I ever going to make that again?' My wonderful big rātā tree in full bloom in front of my house. It's about twice as tall as my high studded approximately 120 year old house, and about the same age (we think they planted the tree about the same time they built the house).

Took the old money boxes (and coin bottles) down and counted all the money. $12.84. It took me more than an hour to count it (I wasn't being super speedy). Pretty poor hourly rate lol.
Two cube vintage metal money boxes with cute little 'ABC' decals, and many many piles of old coins, mostly 1 and 2 cents. The total value of the coins is $12.84.
