5 years ago today - my “this is totally fine” face as we headed into covid lockdown with half a house. Caught short renovating - no kitchen, living room, and limited bathroom facilities.

I’ve started studying for an exam to be a certified professional in my area of expertise… So I’m gonna own my nerdiness and state that I LOVE this textbook - it clearly articulates all the crap I already know and struggle to explain to my students.

Belated Christmas present, with matching t-shirt… 😎😁

Even though we’re in the heat of summer… January is a knitting month. So, I pulled a skein from the stash (“Gamora” by Featherbrush yarns) and hit up Ravelry for a scarf pattern (Seaweed by Holly Marie Knits) and started that a few days ago for Miss 16.

This year I’m going to try something different to simplify life - each month I pick one of my numerous hobbies, and I spend 30-60 a day working on it. At the end of the month, I switch to a different one. That way I can ‘forget’ the rest of my hobbies and not get overwhelmed.

One of my favourite little quirks of the holiday season in my multi-ethnic, multi-religious household is to set up my nativity set near hubby’s Buddha on the hutch. It makes me smile every year without fail.
