Happy to be a part of this study in @cp-cancercell.bsky.social !
Many congrats to the Demir Lab for showing that pseudo-synapses between neurons and PDAC cells boost tumor growth! Blocking glutamate-GRIN2D signaling demonstrates promising survival benefits. Hope it can be translated into the clinic!

New paper out 🎇
It has been 13 years since @owenlabuob.bsky.social and co. published a stellar protocol on how to measure membrane order with smart probes! Since then, there has been new dyes, imaging modes and biology! We wrote a protocol for Nature Protocols:

A very very interesting study published @cellpress.bsky.social ⚡ Congratulations to the team! Proteolethargy! It seems like the fitness is important even for the proteins!

Proteolethargy is a pathogenic mechanism in chronic disease
Pathogenic signaling leads to reduced mobility of proteins with diverse functions. This proteolethargy, which is due to increased oxidation of cysteine residues, may account for diverse cellular pheno...

Another amazing story from the lab @erturklab.bsky.social 🎉 Many congrats to the authors👏🏻Waiting for the next stories 🤔
Our new study shows that SARS-CoV-2 spike protein accumulates & persists in the body for years after infection, especially in the skull-meninges-brain axis, potentially driving long COVID. mRNA vaccines help but cannot stop it🔬🧠🦠🧵Your weekend read👇
