The university examined footage and identified a student’s cellphone number using data from the campus Wi-Fi near the statue at the time it was vandalized. Campus police obtained a search warrant for T-Mobile’s call records for the phone, and later a warrant to seize the phone itself.

For most of 1969 and 1970, Newsom traveled across Europe alongside former SS Gestapo member Otto von Bolschwing who had been brought to the U.S. by the CIA under Operation Paperclip and appointed TCI's president by Getty due to his former Nazi intelligence connections and their value in obtaining defense technology contracts. Newsom referred to von Bolschwing as "suave", "plausible", and "world weary".

I am not blaming Democrats for Republicans becoming fascists. I am blaming people who overused "fascist" for years for removing the power of that word and gutting it of meaning, and making it useless now that we need it. Something I warned would happen.

Many older adults still remember that as children they were not permitted to swim in rivers or pools, or anywhere the virus might lurk. “The reason we weren’t allowed to play in rivers in the ’50s is because raw sewage was dumped into the rivers,” Dr. Heymann said. That is no longer the case, so there “wouldn’t be massive transmission immediately in the U.S.,” he added.

Like ya, women wear seatbelts more. And men ride in cars that were designed to protect the calculated average of THEIR bodies. Gender minorities prepare for a hostile world. Cis dudes are taught to be more hostile than the next guy, so it can stay a hostile world for everyone, including them.
In addition, in the United States, “women report using seatbelts substantially more often than men, and men have been shown to run yellow lights more often than women,” according to Harris and Jenkins.

why are women better at school? idk maybe bc they face higher consequences for every misstep. & maybe bc the world is more hostile to gender minorities, they build community with each other …

The excerpt reads: “I want to stress that the milk in people’s homes that might have the avian influenza RNA is not infectious or a threat to human health. It’s just a marker that some milk got into the food chain that originally had the virus in it. It’s killed because milk products are pasteurized—and that’s, by the way, why drinking raw milk or eating raw cheeses right now is not really recommended. The RNA that makes up the genome of these viruses is extremely stable in wastewater. It’s even stable after pasteurization.“
