Badass but thoroughly f'd up, housebound, kinky, queer, polyam crip, with positively oodles of trauma.

AuDHD. She/They. White. Home "care" receiver.

Just a kitten, struggling to come back out of the relative safety of their cave.

I'm broken to hear today's news!

I will always remember Tinu as one of our most kind, an incredible advocate, & a community foundation.

Tragically, her journey personifies the 100% letdown this world is, and the unrelenting harm it has wrought on our community.

There's no word for this emotion.

Learning of Tinu’s passing brought me back to socials for a minute.

Every person refusing to mask is responsible for the worsening health & isolation of disabled people.

Unmasked healthcare workers caused Tinu to have Long Covid on top of cancer. They killed her.

Does anyone know the UK benefits system well enough to be able to tell me how much money I can "earn" if I'm in the ESA support group on the highest rate, plus I have a direct payments care package...?

I say "earn" since it's not actual employment, legally speaking.

You know why Finland housed their homeless?
Because it's cheaper - saving Finland about $14K per person per year in crime, addiction, mental health, and emergency housing services.
In Canada/UK/US, we mostly rely on raising police budgets instead & still watch those problems rising exponentially.
Finland’s successful approach to ending homelessness catches eye of Quebec City | Globalnews.ca
Quebec City Mayor Bruno Marchand has suggested that the solution to the crisis may be a Finnish model, which is a 'housing first' approach that aims to give everyone a home.

Ow!
2024: "We have respirators that electrostatically capture viral particles, ventilation and filtration systems to clean indoor air, and UV lights to kill viruses."

1918: "That's incredible! What's it like living without all this illness?"

Can we retire the word handicapped? Are you fucking 80 years old? No?! Then stop saying it. That word has gone out of favor and has been out of favor for at least a few decades.

Because after MAID, the eugenics implicit in how the UkGov handled covid & their constant demonising of disabled people, especially those of us claiming benefits, we can totally trust them to put an assisted dying law in place in a non-ableist, non eugenical way?!

Folks idk how to say this delicately so I'll just be blunt as usual:

I don't care if you "tested negative," I still don't want whatever the fuck it is you're coughing and sniffling up all over the place. How dare you think you have the right to give it to me?!

Grow up. Care about other people.
