UNIXy Guy. He/him. Prone to shouting "PUPPY" in public.
I frequently (almost every day, in fact) give away Kindle genre books using #KindleBookGiveaway hashtag, and wrote a feed named "Kindle Book Giveaway" -- but remember bsky has hashtags now!

Have you considered hibernating for 10 or 15 years?

It and the sequel go on sale fairly reliably (once or twice a year), and I usually get some to randomly give out.
That said: it's $5 on US Kindle. It's worth it.

There was a lot of online discussion about them back in '16 or '17, when a bunch of individual store owners turned out to be fucking racist assholes, and there was nothing the cooperative could really do.

Ace isn't a chain; it's a collective (specifically a coop), and politically neutral.

Yeah, I knew that (and, again, I'd seen an occasional episode), so I'll try to give it more than a few episodes this time.
But, really: I can listen to Keith David for *hours*, so that may be the only reason I do.

You should absolutely read it and Echo of Worlds.
When I'm low on hope, I reread the last half or so of Echo to find hope again.

And all claimed now, yay! I hope that's at least 11 happier people.
A note to get you to buy the sequel: it is the only book I've read that has characters braver than @tkingfisher.com's title character from SUMMER IN ORCUS.

Oh! I got this originally because @seananmcguire.bsky.social recommended it some time before it was published, and as I trust her judgment, I pre-ordered it.

This is huge sensawunda science fiction, with relatable, engaging characters (most of them, anyway); all of them are trying to do good, in trying circumstances, as the world around them is falling apart.
I love this book so much I blew my budget to get 10.

I mean, it's largely the thing that Superman and Spider-Man movies have done, over the years.
I like continuities. But I'm also fine without them. (I just want internal consistency.)

(Then a bit into actual 1st grade, they realized I was reading *a lot*, and gave me a book to read, and asked me about it, and then I went into 2nd grade. I'd started late, because my birthday is at the end of the year, but ended up 1 grade ahead.)

But my memory goes from "watching finger move as being read to" to "reading non-picture books."
(Due to reasons I forget, I only went to half of kindergarten, and we got folded into a 1st grade class for the rest of the year. I picked up a lot of 1st grade stuff as a result.

I got *faster* at reading by looking at whole lines and only actually "reading" about one word in three, but processing enough to comprehend the other 2. It took me a *very* long time to figure out what my eyes and brain were doing there...
