Since this post, nearly 300 of you donated about $11k and I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart. The union shared photos with me today of food being distributed. Remaining money will be evenly distributed among the 160 union members in the form of gift cards. Thank you. ❤️

I really can't emphasize enough that if you care about local politics, all you gotta do is show up. Just a regular schmegular person showing up. Literally just show up consistently in person and within a remarkably short amount of time, you will have a shocking amount of influence.

So, you know how people say stuff like, "just repost this & you'll have supported journalism"?

But this time... it's literally true!

Russ has offered to donate to Bolts for each repost this ⬇️ gets or each follow @boltsmag.org gets—up to a sum way higher than we're at.

let's make this go viral!
You can help Bolts continue to provide crucial coverage of local elections. Here's how:

- Repost this = I donate $1.
- Follow @boltsmag.org = I donate $1.
- Donate (link below) + tell me how much = I match your donation.
(Donate monthly = I match a year's worth)
Support Bolts
We are a nonprofit publication that covers the nuts and bolts of political change, from the local up, and we need reader support to build our journalism.

I tell my students the easiest way to catch mistakes is for them to read their papers out loud, and they always look at me like I'm insane.

But look, that's what we do with our own books! Because it works!
Lunch break at 2pm after completing day 6 of 8 of reading aloud the page proofs of my book with a friend. My brain has liquified. Typical typos caught today: Untied States, statue instead of statute.

Will these plans cover pregnancy? Because that is far and away the most expensive I've ever been as an insurance customer ... and all of these assholes are concerned about the birth rate, meanwhile I paid thousands of dollars out of pocket when I was pregnant (WITH good health insurance)

And think of where we are now.

An investment in our teachers is an investment in our children.

In this budget, we're directing $25 million to our child care teachers to put more money in their pockets and bring more workers to the Commonwealth. I'm grateful to all of the advocates who have fought hard to see this in PA.
