Yup. No explanation of what not normal means, what is possibly causing it or what to do about it. Then sent on to my GP practice who have already told me they have no, nor are they required to have, specialist knowledge about M.E...

Thank you. Will take a look. If so that's bonkers. Why would the NHS as a buyer pay for a service and then not allow the supplier to actually obtain that service? Nonsensical enough to be true!

Absolutely. I also wonder about practices who are taking on more non-GP staff to save money. Is it because they need to cut their costs or is it to increase their profits? I don't know and I don't know if anyone is asking those types of questions. What scrutiny is there and who is doing it?

Yes. I didn't know this myself until a few years ago. Now I know it's one of those things you can't unknow. It's worthwhile people check their own practices on Companies House to see their accounts. It amazes me we don't question this

Some may be struggling. There are always good souls trying to do the right thing. But there are also practices running with healthy surpluses rather than investing that money back into desperately needed services. If there a good reason? If so, what is it? If not, who is doing anything about it?
