Five years ago, free PrEP at NHS clinics became available to help drive down HIV cases in England—but too many still struggle to access it.

Research shows up to 65% of people who want PrEP can’t get it due to stigma, lack of awareness & long wait times. That must change. (1/2)

I know I'm not the first person to say this, but I think we need to stop talking about obesity (and other health outcomes) as the focus of dietary public health policy. Focusing on obesity frames the problem as one of individual bodies, creates shame and stigma and leads to individualised solutions.

An important read ahead of #WorldAIDSDay

It's also an important reminder of the wider implications of homophobia (in this instance) but applies to any situation.

A 🧵 on #AIDS in the 80s/90s:
I was 15 when I first had sex with a man.
I’d snuck off to London’s Heaven nightclub with the express intent of ridding myself of my ‘gay virginity’, a goal I achieved easily with a visiting American photographer.

Important for trans folk to fill this in.

The question on gender markers feels quite leading but otherwise seems in good faith.

Just be careful around sex/gender markers there’s a move to separate these and I feel strongly this would be a negative move.
Healthwatch want to hear from trans and non-binary people about their experiences with their GP. This is an important research project and the data will help us to highlight the issues impacting trans people.
