I helped legalize cannabis in Canada and won some precedent setting medical cannabis cases. Now I practice law in British Columbia and run a cannabis company called Great Gardener Farms. Dad and husband. Deadhead. Lions fan. He/him.
This seems like an important decision expanding the definition of landlord to include property managers who are now on the hook.

Or we could have a government which doesn’t allow monopolies and massive wealth inequality.
The only surefire way to stop oligarchs buying up the things we love is to drop those things the moment oligarchs buy them & that requires changing habits and massive self-discipline.
It means going to alternatives that might not be quite as good or convenient.
It’s really hard. But there it is.

This is well said. Boycotts are great and yes do it.

Well this is horrific. If this procedure can be performed anywhere she should have it and SK should pay for it.
A woman in Saskatchewan needs surgery for a parathyroid issue and is being offered MAiD instead.

There’s no one in the province who can perform the procedure and the government won’t pay to send her elsewhere.

This is why disability advocates warn about assisted dying

You’d think after a couple hundred plus years of interpretation there wouldn’t be much new constitutional ground left in the US. I studied constitutional law - and mostly US law - at James Madison College @michiganstateu.bsky.social. This is a new one to me.
OK, seriously. This is wild.

Judge Jay Bybee (1) raises a new issue — the Domestic Violence Clause of the Constitution — to consider in the troop deployment cases; (2) extensively details its historical application;

This is from the story published in local media throughout this province:

“It is not, but it is almost like a vaccine against overdose for a period of time,” Eby said.

THIS IS DANGEROUSLY IRRESPONSIBLE MISINFORMATION and Alex explains here:
bsky.app/profile/unfi...
so for BC journo's anyone telling you that long acting buprenorphine, aka sublocade, is a vaccine for OD's is being incredibly misleading in a very dangerous way

it is true that in the first week a patients tolerance from sublocade is quite high, but that's not true in weeks 2 & 3 #bcpoli
oh fuck, i wasn't 100% sure so i didn't want to say it, but that's not even what they're talking about... they're talking about using sublocade (which holy shit is not a vaccine for overdoses)

America does not have capital punishment for selling or smuggling drugs and none of these people were arrested or tried. There could have been mountains of cocaine in open view on the deck of the boats and it still would have been murder of unarmed civilians.
Rand Paul just posted this letter from the Coast Guard confirming that 1/4 of the boats they stop carry no contraband. The likelihood that Hegseth & Bradley ordered the murder of innocent civilians is very high.
