Idk, maybe address the reason a bunch of straight people keep having kids but don't take care of them, and focus on the adoptees screaming their needs that are being ignored, before you get upset that gay ppl are adopting them and giving them care, love, food, shelter, and a better shot at life.

13. We can hold two things to be true. They need funding. They need support. They need us to support them, clearly. Trans folks who are ALSO EXPERIENCING THIS ADMIN are at the org, doing their best, trying to get by, working to keep trans folks alive every day. Show them some grace and support.

12. Their process was not outlandish. Building infrastructure for an overwhelming response costs THOUSANDS and thousands of dollars in funding. So instead of dogpiling, maybe boost them as a resource that needs funds so they can scale capacity and prevent this in the future?

11. Trans lifeline has done nothing but continue to build trust and serve the Trans community as a community resource. Yall are berating an underfunded grassroots resource for not having HRC funding, and it's not just sad, it's extremely detached.

10. Additionally, TL tried reaching out to folks who applied early to reapply, wasting time and resources because they failed to follow directions.

9. And additionally, I think the folks who submitted applications BEFORE the opening have 0 right to be upset about the process, because they failed to follow clearly written instructions. That's not their fault, that's yours. You should be reading carefully and intentionally.

8. I think my takeaway is, yeah, sure. They could've avoided asking for the video, but the response and volume of applications would've been the same if not more, and they still would've faced this.

7. This is controversial, but I think folks are using "trauma" too losely. I think the word is disappointment. It's not their fault folks didn't read the clear stipulations: 48hrs or until 100 applications are received. They got nearly multiple thousands in MINUTES, hundreds in SECONDS.

6. They are not your enemy, and it isn't their fault the job market has been horrible. Folks projected their continued job market trauma on an organization doing their best and LEAPED at the opportunity to dogpile.
March 13, 2025 at 7:15 AM
5. Additionally, they clearly stated "48hrs or until 100 applicants are reached" showing you all that they have limited capacity. They're underfunded and can't afford expensive consultants who can manage the volume of applicants like a firm can. 2 ppl work in HR. 2. They're trying.

4. It is NOT, I repeat NOT, Trans Lifeline's fault that the site they use for applications crashed. Sites crash. We know this. They couldn't have prevented that with the response they got for applications.
March 13, 2025 at 7:12 AM
3. I say all of this as someone who has been in the weeds of the job market until literally a week ago. I've been there. And this response is absolutely ridiculous to me, and shows how much hall love using a community org as a punching bag.
March 13, 2025 at 7:11 AM
2. It's so sad to see folks not say "hmm, an error message. Maybe the site is crashing. I wonder what's happening" instead of "THIS POS COMPANY CANT HIRE FOR SHIT IT WAS HUNGER GAMES AND CAUSED ME TRAUMA".
March 13, 2025 at 7:10 AM
1. First and foremost: the issue wasn't the videos. If they didn't require videos they probably would've gotten even more applications and still reacted the same. This was always going to be the result of an overwhelming response.
