i mean she picks up on cloud not being cloud. and yes, she clocks that bc she knew Zack, but cloud is a terrible Zack, and she knows that he isn't Zack and isn't himself either. like it takes tifa the mideel mako mindfuck to realize fully what's going on but aerith spends like 2 weeks and boom

think about jenovaroth trying to cast meteor, then it surely is obvious that Aerith is a target for having and being able to cast holy. like of course she's walking to her death trying to cast it there in the capital, and she has to know it bc she's one of the most perceptive chars in the game

I do not think she had to go alone to the capital. another thing that fucks me up is that when you look at the world map of og the temple of the ancients and the capital are so far away from each other, and gongaga is even farther (which btw. insane that they start in the temple and end in gongaga)
