Also even if your water isn't boiling, if it's too close to a boil then it will sometimes boil *IN* the spout. So instead of a nice predictable stream, all of a sudden you've got bubbles and big drops and probably a goddamn mess.

The actual problem though is that the default temp is 212, so someone at altitude is surprised with a dangerous mess on first use. Also you have to remember to change it any time the power goes out.
Simple solution would have been to just make the default 200, which is better for coffee anyway!
