Tonight we went to the skate park for the first time. It was a really fun and friendly environment. I fell a few times and it wasn't too scary. I'm looking forward to next month's adult beginner night since it's just one night a month. I think we'll be beginners for a while lol

I'm so grateful to have discovered (via Bluesky convos about resisting AI) the Mojeek search engine this year, which primarily sources from blog posts and personal websites. Mojeek.com — how well it works is heavily dependent on the search topic but when it works well it's on par w/Google w/less bs.

I had leftover pumpkin pie today and it was delicious and wonderful. It's a lot more exciting, flaws and all, on a day when I didn't have to put effort into making it

Baking cheesy monkey bread and pumpkin pie today for Friendsgiving. I made the crust yesterday for the pie. Bread is proofing now. Wish me luck that I don't mess it all up trying to do too many things in one day.

fyi cosplayers-- if you're in need of any basic underlayers for cosplay (modesty garments, tights, colored leggings, sports bras of varying silhouettes, etc) or dance shoes, discount dance is going out of business (😭) and most of the store is $5. stock up.

I'm gonna listen to the audiobook for Santa Olivia by Jacqueline Carey again. It has to be one of my top five all time favorite reads. I think it's genuinely a Great American Novel. Please go read it if you have not.

Sometimes things are in my library hold queue so long that I have no idea how they got there. Just started a new romantasy audiobook and instantly disliked it. Gave it a couple chapters and it continued to grate on me. I have to assume it's only in my list because supposedly there are dragons.

Last night at skate school I finally found out why we've spent the last five weeks doing crossover practice every time. The whole group came together to learn a crossover based dance routine to increasingly fast music. It was so fun! Then we did the relay race and I actually participated this time!

I finally had my consultation with the allergist about possible titanium allergies. He was so nice, even said he was sorry that I had those symptoms happen to me, and said they can test for all the metals in the alloy in panel testing. I'm so grateful when doctors are kind and believe me.

I have reached the point in roller skating where I feel so much joy being able to just flow and move to the beat during rink skating. I wonder if that's what people who get runner's high feel. I'm so excited to continue to improve and learn. I wanna be able to transition and go backwards, too.
