Here’s a round-up of just some of the things happening over the coming weeks...

It wasn’t about scaling endlessly or chasing headlines, it was about deepening opportunities, connections and relationships. About what it really means to grow an economy built on trust, inclusion and shared purpose.

Liverpool City Region’s social economy is a thriving, growing part of our economy. Kindred members have grown from 150 to 1,500 members in five years.

It’s already shaping the region’s future – and our STOs know exactly where they want to take it next.

We’re proud of the impact created here already – and even prouder of what’s next.

Across our portfolio, turnover growth is 20% – and those who have had money the longest are achieving annual turnover growth of more than 50%. (20% is the OECD’s definition of ‘high growth’.)

Together this has created £35.9m in total social and economic value across the LCR.

This is what happens when we invest in people with lived experience. Over half of those investments have gone to women-led STOs; nearly a third to Black-led organisations; and 100% to underinvested people/places.

Since 2020, Kindred has:

- Invested £3m in 51 socially-trading organisations
- Helped them support 421,735 people in 2024 alone
- Backed the creation of 200 new jobs and safeguarded over 320 more
- Seen turnover grow 20% YoY across our portfolio
- Helped STOs leverage £16.35m in additional funding
