49 years ago this month, I began my international career in animal rights by becoming the campaign’s organiser (2nd f/t employee)of Compassion In World Farming. After 2 years as a vegetarian, prompted by working in a chicken slaughterhouse, I became a vegan at the beginning of 1976.

Mary, a female Asian elephant, toured the USA with the Sparks World Famous Circus. An industrial derrick hung Mary at a railyard in front of 2,500 plus people on September 12, 1916. She killed her keeper, who beat her after she picked up a watermelon during circus parade. kimstallwood.substack.com
