He worked with what he had and I do think Slocombe was ok for the NL. He may have had involvement in signing Stone, which is a fair point. But, I wouldn’t just disregard the good stuff he did. Played a big part in our return to the EFL. But, entitled to your opinion👍

My understanding is that he was responsible for a lot of our set pieces, including Bostock’s free kick in the PO final. In terms of Slocombe he worked with what he had, sufficient in NL.
I think he deserves respect, but don’t like these tweets.

If it’s in reference to SM, which it’s likely to be, don’t like it. Massive respect for what both did at Notts. But, be better than that.

I was surprised he started. I was anticipating a return from the bench considering length of time out, the way they play & the state of their pitch.

Beat me to it. Jatta was isolated for majority of the match. If they should’ve been playing longer, I didn’t see SM giving any instructions from the side line.

This tweets doing rounds. It does make me question our fitness levels. LW had the squad incredibly fit, possibly verging on burn out. Today, majority of players looked sluggish. Looked like they were out last night. Proper old school Sunday morning performance.

Comprehensively beaten us & they were poor, very poor. I’m not one for knee jerk reactions & have always defended SM. I’m now struggling, unsure what the formation was and tactics?

It’s/that’s horrendous. It seems widely accepted that by companies & delivery drivers(some) in the UK that it’s perfectly ok.

They definitely put out a strong team. I know a P’boro ST holder, had a drink with him before the game. He said it was the strongest side they had available.

So glad we have the owners we do. Not just because they’ve rebuilt the club & continue to build. But, on occasions like this. Calm, methodical approach, no knee jerk reaction. There’s no need.

Yes, I’d go with that. I thought it was a big disruption to us. Where as we could have used the subs to disrupt P’boro & the flow of the game. But, folk suggesting it’s time for him to go🤷♂️
