This book gave DnD colonizer vibes… MC brings gnomish coffee to a town and was like “I discovered this amazing thing!”
The writing was incredibly mediocre and relied heavily on DnD references rather than creating a compelling story. Boring AF.

I’ve come to the conclusion that T. Kingfisher is not the author for me. While I like her writing style, every single book I’ve read has been a bland AF story with dull characters.
This story was a slog to get through and it was a damn novella.
Pretty writing, no substance.
