This convo I had highlights the difference in what "respect your time" means in games.
A lot of players want to trade time for in-game progress. It's purely transactional: 1 hour = 1 progress
But I want to feel like my actions matter i.e. what I do with time creates progress, not time itself.

El que piense que los despidos o los cierres en grandes páginas de videojuegos tiene un impacto en la crítica de videojuegos es que no sabe lo que es la crítica de videojuegos.
i have no idea what advice i'd give to someone looking to do games criticism today. i hold on to a distant optimism that in time, in the wake of the collapse of games media and with investors abandoning games entirely, a smaller and less commercial games culture emerges in its wake but. lol. yknow
