We've officially done the real-deal fieldwork after tree climbing course
@rschwutke.bsky.social and @kieuthuyquynh.bsky.social completed their very first tree climbing work after the training to collect leaves samples. It was a huge, upward-bound step for our research, and we're so ready for more!

🌲🌳💧 Researchers have investigated the water uptake depth of spruce, copper beech and Douglas fir. Beech and Douglas fir had access to water from deeper soil layers, unlike spruce. Whether it is a pure or mixed stand also makes a difference.
