Imagine 2026 will consist of three 75-minute online workshops for professionals who want to move beyond generic goals and resolutions to a more structured and flexible way of thinking about future possibilities.

In January, I'll be launching Imagine 2026 (sorry, I know we are all still fully embracing the increasing chill of 2025).

We talked about change, uncertainty, trends, and signals, and did some immersive creative exercises to explore how to imagine possible, plausible and preferred futures. A great and engaging cohort of students. Thanks Dr Gbemisola Ogbolu for the invitation. It was a joy.

Absolutely agree. Bringing play and fun, which can help with psychological safety, back into the workplace is probably far more important than is ever realised. Seriousness no doubt works against innovation.

I’d love to know: do you see imagination as essential to your work. If not, why not? And if so, how do you ensure you create space for imaginative work?

We too often treat imagination as childish, or the domain of artists and dreamers (I've been watching Sandman on Netflix). But writing over a century ago, Deland reminds us that imagination has always been central to leadership, innovation, and change.

As the nights draw in and the kids return to school next week, I'm looking forward to focusing and firing up my imagination. 🎇
