Intermittent isolation isn't so bad as long as you get black-out curtains to keep oppressive daylight from waking you up before noon

I'm no biologist, but yeast shouldn't get so much credit for getting old if they don't have to work for it. You don't need to get a mortgage at 7.5% to support a family if you can just mitosis in a jar

People falling for obviously misleading visualizations is upsetting enough, but I can't imagine the depravity of someone creating misleading graphs on purpose

In a academic sense, you could learn a lot sociologically from TikTok. I'm worried about people learning a lot about relationships on TikTok as, like, their idea of what relationships are

Even people with enough judgment and experience in their fields to be considered experts would need time and experience using LLMs before it makes them more productive. It's like asking all your employees to use forklifts to send emails, whether or not they're certified

He supposedly died while sitting on a toilet, but it's hard to say whether it was a cocktail of health issues due to drugs and obesity or if he had a bad Poop Sandwich

Padded rooms have great acoustics for a sound studio

In his time, populist, pro-social movements got so popular that even FDR had to make compromises favoring labor. The fact that his compromises represent a high-water mark of ideas that are now maligned only demonstrates how much more imbalanced the power struggle is

We need a new Diogenes

It got really difficult to be up front about depression as soon as I found out that everyone seems to know someone pretending to be sad that ruined everything

It really is the city that never sleeps. You could never get me to wake up at 8 let alone make an 8am appointment. Might as well just stay up

I enjoy watching 80's movies better with a willing suspension of disbelief.

I sometimes hide my lived experience by expressing them as bits. Kinda like how you'd cover pet medicine with peanut butter to make it more palatable, but your ennui doesn't actually make them healthier

I don't think anything I've ever done online getting more than 20 likes made me a better, happier person. If I ever use a platform enough to get called a "power user" I would peacefully and serenely end myself

If you study law for long enough you start to get suspicious of the word "reasonable". Common law is largely just based on vibes

Fluid ounces are basically meaningless as a measurement. For as long as I've been alive, I still cannot eyeball a quart, a cup, a tablespoon, any of it. I can begrudgingly tell the difference between a 12oz can and a 22oz bomber, but I prefer not to think about it too much

The absolute worst people live forever. The fact that Henry Kissinger passed peacefully at the age of 100 feels like a joke

How southern of an accent are we talking about?

Knowing that there might be someone lonelier than I am or in a worse state makes me second-guess my own loneliness. The next guy needs it more

Staying focused and on message is an effective strategy. I'm sure some overpaid strategist is scratching his head wondering if Cuomo's campaign failed because it wasn't bigoted enough

I'm gonna wish a late happy birthday and take the deserved pox anyway

All obituaries have to round your complexities into a blurb that strangers or distant relatives can read without getting bored. Most people tend to be decent enough to round down your rougher or contentious flaws to give you grace. If the people that bury you hate you? Not so lucky
