Always up to some nonsense making art and things.

I’m experimenting with an ‘art only’ account for Bluesky and Flashes @khanningsart.bsky.social.

You have no idea how much joy it brings me that this Blahaj Goes to Waffle House at 3:00 AM video was created with Blender and not GenAI

We need to talk about Teddy's late night snacking, but that can wait for a different time

Starting an art only account has me wondering about starting a garden journal account. I don’t know how I feel about separating out all my interests but it would be useful to just scroll through garden stuff to see what I was planting when…

I’m experimenting with having an art only account. If you are interested in seeing my little sketches you can follow me: khanningsart@bsky.social.

This should keep my art account optimized for viewing through Flashes. Anyone else experimenting with this?

Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.

I’m so excited that the KC gardeners group will be over here. I can’t wait to see what everyone is growing. Today I’m starting onions from seed for the first time. Anyone else grow onions? #kcagg

I’m wanting to work in my sketchbooks more so I’m going to try to dedicate a spread to each week in 2025. See if it convinces my brain that those pages are going to be used regardless, so I better not be too precious and just get to filling them up.

At least I went out on #whamageddon while putting up Christmas decorations. It feels honorable, unlike years when it’s in a grocery aisle while buying bulk cheese.

Wondering how to use Bluesky feeds, blocklists, and filters? Are you worried that Bluesky will inevitably turn evil? Are you wondering what the Alf thing is about, but are too afraid to ask?

Just finished watching The Decameron on a whim and it is very funny and occasionally surprisingly poignant. I’m kind of surprised I’ve not really heard more people talking about it. #tv

When exploring an artist’s works, like a band’s albums, or a writer’s novels, do people like to start with their best and explore out from there? Or start with their weaker and build up like a firework grand finale? Chronologically?

Two things about John Mulaney’s Everbody’s In L.A.
1. It feels a bit like an old cable access show.
2. Richard Kind is an absolute gem on it.
