It seems like he's suggesting right wing conspiracy theorists are woke to the fact capital and the tech industry aren't acting in the interests of the white middle class (whether any of those parties necessarily understand it in those terms or not)

Oh I see what's happened. The person I replied to used the phrase "back in the day" and then Stancil quoted me talking about toxic nostalgia for some reason and put words in my mouth and then presumably you took that as indicative of my opinion even though I didn't say it.

I just don't understand why you're all dogpiling me for saying it sucks all my shoes fall apart in under a year.

Yes, they do. I work in retail and I'm on my feet all day rushing around and often crouching and bending down to fill shelves or pick things up, etc, which breaks the seams on the sides and the tips. The last pair I bought was about £65, which is around $85. I have to buy a new pair every year-ish.
