i like the bookends Le Guin includes in this collection:
"That requires not a war but a search and discovery. The search takes him through mortal danger, loss, and suffering. The discovery brings him victory, the kind of victory that isn't the end of a battle but the beginning of a life."

Started out as a bit, but got completely out of hand 🤣
Too weird to explain briefly, so here are the footnotes. Judge for yourself:

coming up with archetypes is fun.
“The Bridger” would be interesting to implement in a classifier: trips crossing bridges (bus rides would be tricky, but possible)

coolest thing about the side quest to walk all of this city is there's no such thing as delays anymore, just misadventures.
friend's 15 mins late to our cafe hang in the west end? no problem, i'll just walk around for bit, exploring the unexplored

hades 2’s arcana system reminds me of what i wanted to make for compass card wrapped, i.e. you unlock cards based on your transit history

We met up at Elysian Coffee! First time meeting a gogomite IRL and it was so satisfying hearing him share how he uses Gogomi ~every day.
Really cool seeing someone nerd out about something you made!

didn't expect "the dispossessed" to be so popular, had to return my hold earlier than expected. on the bright side, my other hold is in, so this is more like a hot swap.
ps: this coleus on the sidewalk made me smile, its edges were stimulating

Oh yeah! Forgot to update you. I went to her place a week after and joined her on a long walk around her neighbourhood.
Heard stories about her growing up in DRC, compared notes on moving from African countries to Vancouver 30 yrs apart, and loved how she finds the word 'chitchat' hilarious.

Special thanks to whoever shared Gogomi in a "Vancouver urbanist/local politics chat group"
Got an email from someone who discovered the app there and has been using it for their quest to run every street in the city. They find it super helpful. Really cool!
